1. Why are power pins not shown on the circuit diagram?

This is by design. Power pins are not shown on your circuit diagram, but instead are automatically connected to the power network of the same name as the pin.

If you want power pins to show then use the type "Passive" or "Input" instead.

2. How do I connect between different sheets on a schematic?

Use "Labels", this is the icon which is the green "a" with a blue line under it. Any labels with the same name on different sheets are considered connected together.

3. How do I get TinyCAD to work with Windows 98?

Typically TinyCAD works fine with Win98, however, you may have to download the Jet Service Pack as linked to on the Downloads page.

However, Win98 does not support all of the drawing features that TinyCAD uses and some reason TinyCAD seems to crash much more when using Win98. I find it hard to support this old operating system now, particulary as my only test machine is a clean, brand new install, and so TinyCAD doesn't seem to crash in the same way as other people find.

I will try and do my best for Win98 users, however, you have to understand that it isn't a very stable operating system, and I can't really do much to stop the crashing when I can't reproduce the problems myself.

4. Can I have permission to distribute TinyCAD on a CD or my web-site?

TinyCAD is open-source, you don't need my persmission, but thanks for asking! If you want a link to your web-site please let me know.

5. Can I used TinyCAD in my own project?

Yes as long as you follow the rules of the Lesser General Public Licence. The basic rule is that if you edit my code then you have to make the source available to others. On a more moral note, I have spent a good 10 years developing this application, and it would be nice if people sent me any bug-fixes that they implement!

6. I have found a bug do can you fix it for me?

I am always happy to look into bugs for people, just make sure I have enough information to reproduce it. Othen that means you will have to send me your designs and library files that illustrate the bug. Remember I do most of this in my spare time and so it is in your best interests to make it as easy as possible for me to track down the bug.

7. I want some new features, can you do them for me?

Any new features requests I take seriously. Most of the features of TinyCAD have been suggestions by somebody at some point in the past. Sometimes it will take me a long time to implement the feature you have asked for. This is normally because I am have a flexible development plan in my head and I have things to get done before I move on to other feature changes.

Any feature request is noted and kept. I periodically go through that list and implement any that I think are sensible.

8. Can I have some help with Spice integration?

I will do by best! There is a Spice library on the Yahoo web-site that should help you get going. However, your best bet is to do some manual Spice file generation first and then move on to creating your own file afterwards!

If you get stuck then post a message on the Yahoo group.

9. I am looking for a library of XXX symbols, do you have one?

I don't draw symbols! I just don't have the time to draw symbol libraries, and I'm not very good at it. However, I suggest you go to the Yahoo group and send a message to see if anybody else has drawn the library you need!
